About

I am going back to school come fall 2011, and while I’m not tied down and happy to sleep on floors, in hostels, on trains, and in planes, I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to travel.  I am writing this blog both as a journal for my own record as well as a means to let my mom know that I’m alive and doing well.

To give you a sense for some of my quirks, I will share the following.  I considered the title of this blog to be “My Plog” because more than a web log (eventually condensed to “blog”), this felt more like a trip log, or Plog if you will.  But I restrained myself.  I’ve been conditioned, especially through school, to abbreviate and condense and lexicate (which is probably also a made up word) whenever possible.  Whether going to the CoHo or having FroYo with your RoHo and ProFro at FroSoCo, abbreviating became a little too natural.

I tried to call downtown Palo Alto DOPA, and if it was late at night, then L-DOPA (for Late night DOwntown Palo Alto).  L-DOPA, after all, is the blood-brain-barrier-crossing precursor to dopamine, and dopamine has been known to increase heart rate and blood pressure–two side affects that one might experience from a night on the town.
